MATC Bossier City/Shreveport, Kenya, and Manna vs. Meat

Categories: News

Well, we just returned from three weeks of being on the road.  I traveled through Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. Lori and the girls made the trip to Mississippi and Alabama. The trip was divided between time with our families, time ministering, and Ryan’s football camps!  Ryan went to football camps at Samford University in Alabama and Valdosta State in Georgia. Sarah had the opportunity to sing at First Baptist and at Meek Baptist Church in Arley, AL.  I had the opportunity to share at Meek Baptist Church, and at several churches in Bossier City, LA and I also met with several of my Timothys in Dallas. While on the road, God opened up a door for me to travel back to Kenya for an outreach in September 2010. The only issue keeping me from committing to the trip was the necessary funds.  Our ministry account is running low and there was no money for me to travel across town, much less to Kenya.  I asked the Lord to provide all the funding up front if He wanted me to go on this trip and in less than 48 hours after making the request, He provided all the money need for me to go.  Yeah God!

In the past few months, we have lost the financial support of several ministry partners due to the economic crises we’re experiencing in this country.  A few days ago, I was beginning to let the enemy get to me as I was focusing on the loss of financial support, uncertainty of the future, etc etc.  As I was reading Numbers 11, God reminded me of his gracious provision over the past fifteen years. Time after time, he has provided everything we needed (needed being the key word). You see in Numbers 11, the Israelites were tired of the manna, they wanted meat.  They didn’t need meat, they craved it!  As we go through this period of economic uncertainty, no matter what is going on in your life, you can be certain that God loves you and He will give you everything you need to accomplish the task He has called you to.  So don’t be like the Israelites and grumble over your cravings, instead be thankful for the MANNA!

Please check out the ministry calendar and pray for upcoming trips, our provision, and the upcoming kenya trip. Thanks for all your prayers and support.
